Summary

Loyal Newcastle presented 'pages from the story of a great city' in the form of an historical pageant held at the City Hall. An expression of civic pride of place, the event was also a demonstration of loyalty to the new queen Elizabeth II; indeed, the pageant was part of the city's celebrations in association with the coronation.
